| 8 | 9 | | more than four decades; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Lamb began working with the Coastal Bend Council |

| 10 | 11 | | of Governments as an auditor in 1973; she took on additional |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | responsibilities as a contract specialist in 1980, and in 1990, she |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | was named director of the Area Agency on Aging, a position she has |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | held for the past 27 years; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A respected voice on issues affecting seniors, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Ms. Lamb has shared her insight as a former chair and longtime |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | member of the Corpus Christi Mayor's Council on Aging, as a past |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | officer in the Texas Association of Area Agencies on Aging, and as |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | an active contributor to the Face to Face Advisory Council |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | supporting family caregivers; she also spent more than two decades |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | working on the Coastal Bend Aging and Disability Resource Directory |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Project, and she has served as an active planning member of Coastal |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Bend Community Partnerships, including the long-running |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children Conference; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In retirement, Ms. Lamb is looking forward to |

| 25 | 26 | | enjoying more time with her family, which includes her two |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | daughters and six grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedication and expertise, Betty Lamb has |

| 28 | 29 | | made a positive difference in the lives of many area Texans, and she |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | may indeed reflect with well-deserved pride on her record of |

| 30 | 31 | | service; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas |
