94 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
105 WHEREAS, Each year, well over a thousand weddings take place
116 in Dripping Springs; and
127 WHEREAS, The natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country
138 provides an ideal setting for joyous celebrations of matrimony, and
149 the Dripping Springs area is home to more than 30 event venues of
1510 all styles and sizes, among them wineries, ranches, and picturesque
1611 sites along waterways such as Onion Creek; and
1712 WHEREAS, Due to the popularity of Dripping Springs as a
1813 destination for nuptials, the hospitality industry has become well
1914 established; the city's business community includes a wide range of
2015 overnight accommodations for guests, as well as florists, caterers,
2116 bakeries, and other companies offering wedding services; and
2217 WHEREAS, Countless couples have selected Dripping Springs as
2318 the perfect spot to exchange the vows of matrimony and embark on a
2419 new life journey together in the presence of family and friends, and
2520 local residents take pride in the role their community plays in
2621 supporting the institution of marriage; now, therefore, be it
2722 RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas
2823 hereby designate Dripping Springs as the official Wedding Capital
2924 of Texas; and, be it further
3025 RESOLVED, That in accordance with the provisions of Section
3126 391.003(e), Government Code, this designation remain in effect
3227 until the 10th anniversary of its designation.
