| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. The Legislature of the State of Texas by this | |

| 12 | 12 | Article V of the United States Constitution, an amendment to the | |
| 13 | 13 | Constitution of the United States to require a balanced federal | |
| 14 | 14 | budget as proposed by House Joint Resolution No. ___ or Senate Joint | |
| 15 | 15 | Resolution No. ___ of the ___th Congress of the United States. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. The secretary of state of this state shall: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) notify the archivist of the United States of the | |
| 18 | 18 | action of the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas, Regular | |
| 19 | 19 | Session, 2017, by sending the archivist a copy of this resolution; | |
| 20 | 20 | and | |
| 21 | 21 | (2) send copies of this resolution to the United | |
| 22 | 22 | States senators from Texas, to all United States representatives | |
| 23 | 23 | from Texas, to the vice president of the United States, and to the | |
| 24 | 24 | speaker of the United States House of Representatives with the | |
| 25 | 25 | request that it be printed in full in the Congressional Record. |
