55 A JOINT RESOLUTION
66 proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing legislative
77 action at any time during a regular session on a bill that extends
88 the existence of an agency, commission, or advisory committee
99 following legislative review.
1010 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 5, Article III, Texas Constitution, is
1212 amended by adding Subsection (b-1) and amending Subsection (c) to
1313 read as follows:
1414 (b-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (b), the Legislature may
1515 at any time during a regular session act on any bill that extends
1616 the existence of an agency, commission, or advisory committee
1717 following legislative review.
1818 (c) Notwithstanding Subsections [Subsection] (b) and (b-1),
1919 either House may determine its order of business by an affirmative
2020 vote of four-fifths of its membership.
2121 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2222 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2017.
2323 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2424 proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing
2525 legislative action at any time during a regular session on a bill
2626 that extends the existence of an agency, commission, or advisory
2727 committee following legislative review."
