H.R. No. 104 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, William A. Hyslop of Houston is retiring as president and chief executive officer of the MD Anderson Services Corporation and the MD Anderson Physicians Network on February 28, 2017, concluding a distinguished 30-year career in health care; and WHEREAS, An alumnus of Trinity University, where he graduated with a master's degree in health care administration in 1975, Mr. Hyslop served for a decade as executive vice president and chief operations officer of supporting organizations for The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston before being named to his current position in March 2009; and WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Mr. Hyslop has overseen three general acute-care hospitals and seven nonprofit community hospitals; he also established the Hyslop Group, a national consulting firm that specialized in health care mergers and acquisitions, strategic business development, and start-up company formations; and WHEREAS, William Hyslop has demonstrated remarkable vision and skill throughout three decades as a health care administrator, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his notable achievements and contributions; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate William A. Hyslop on his retirement from the MD Anderson Services Corporation and the MD Anderson Physicians Network and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued happiness and fulfillment; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hyslop as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
