| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Association of Charitable |

| 6 | 7 | | Clinics are gathering on April 27-28, 2017, to celebrate the |

| 7 | 8 | | organization's 12th anniversary at its annual state conference; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since its founding in 2005, the association has been |

| 9 | 10 | | dedicated to increasing access to quality health care for the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | underserved; it furnishes affiliates with networking and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | educational opportunities, collects and disseminates information |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | relevant to its mission, and offers low-cost medical supplies and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | products through corporate and national partnerships; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, This worthwhile organization assists over 70 |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | charitable Texas clinics, which together have almost 400,000 |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | patient visits each year; chiefly staffed by a large volunteer base |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | of physicians, nurses, dentists, and other medical professionals, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | these vital centers provide a practical alternative to costly |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | hospital and emergency room care; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, For 12 years, the Texas Association of Charitable |

| 21 | 22 | | Clinics has worked to make efficient and effective medical |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | treatment available to those who may otherwise go without, and its |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | efforts have had a profound and positive influence on the citizens |

| 24 | 25 | | of Texas; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby recognize April 27, 2017, as Texas Charitable |

| 27 | 28 | | Clinic Day and extend to all involved with the clinics sincere best |

| 28 | 29 | | wishes for continued success with their important work; and, be it |
