| 11 | 12 | | Science, the Science Bowl brings together middle and high school |

| 12 | 13 | | students to participate in a fast-paced academic contest that |

| 13 | 14 | | touches on disciplines ranging from biology and chemistry to |

| 14 | 15 | | physics and math; at the regional level, competitors from King High |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | School bested 19 other teams from South Texas to earn an |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., where they will take |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | part in the national competition being held from April 27 to May 1, |

| 18 | 19 | | 2017; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Currently a senior at Richard King High School, |

| 20 | 21 | | Hunter Adams has twice qualified for the Science Bowl nationals, |

| 21 | 22 | | and this year, he was in charge of studying earth science for his |

| 22 | 23 | | team; he is also an Eagle Scout, and as a member of his school's |

| 23 | 24 | | speech and debate team, he has advanced to the national tournament |

| 24 | 25 | | on two occasions; this coming fall semester, he will be attending |

| 25 | 26 | | Rice University, where he plans to study both geology and theology |

| 26 | 27 | | in preparation for a life in the priesthood; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, With their fine showing in the regional Science Bowl |

| 28 | 29 | | competition, the members of the King High School team have brought |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | credit to their school and their community, and Hunter Adams may |

| 30 | 31 | | take justifiable pride in his contributions to the team's winning |

| 32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
