| 12 | 13 | | students to participate in a fast-paced academic contest that |

| 13 | 14 | | touches on disciplines ranging from biology and chemistry to |

| 14 | 15 | | physics and math; at the regional level, competitors from King High |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | School bested 19 other teams from South Texas to earn an |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where they will take |

| 17 | 18 | | part in the national competition being held from April 27 to May 1, |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Currently in his junior year, Mr. Rodrigues is |

| 20 | 21 | | president of his class as well as a saxophone section leader and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | first chair in the King High School band; he also plays the violin |

| 22 | 23 | | in the Corpus Christi Area Youth Orchestra and regularly competes |

| 23 | 24 | | in University Interscholastic League academic contests; in his |

| 24 | 25 | | spare time, he enjoys playing tennis; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, With their fine showing in the regional Science Bowl |

| 26 | 27 | | competition, the members of the King High School team have brought |

| 27 | 28 | | credit to their school and their community, and Darren Rodrigues |

| 28 | 29 | | may take justifiable pride in his contributions to the team's |
