 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Josh D. Clarke was sworn in as a member of the board
 of the Chester Independent School District on February 27, 2017;
 and
 WHEREAS, The board unanimously approved the appointment of
 Mr. Clarke to fill an unexpected vacancy; a respected member of the
 business community, he is the president of H. C. Oilfield Services;
 and
 WHEREAS, Serving on the school board requires a significant
 commitment of time and energy; members coordinate with the district
 superintendent to ensure the best possible instruction and
 resources for pupils, and they strive to promote academic
 achievement and to enhance the quality of the district's schools;
 moreover, they seek to garner the public support that is essential
 to the advancement of the school system; and
 WHEREAS, By accepting this important office, Josh Clarke has
 demonstrated admirable dedication to providing area children with a
 strong foundation on which to build fulfilling and productive
 lives; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Josh Clarke on his appointment to
 the board of the Chester Independent School District and extend to
 him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Clarke as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
