| 7 | 8 | | to the public welfare, they enable us to enjoy the benefits of a |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Too seldom recognized, and sometimes taken for |

| 10 | 11 | | granted by the public they so faithfully serve, these gallant |

| 11 | 12 | | individuals daily risk their lives in order to ensure domestic |

| 12 | 13 | | tranquility and to protect the lives and property of others; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant William Karl Keesee of the Texas Department |

| 14 | 15 | | of Public Safety exemplified in his personal and professional |

| 15 | 16 | | conduct the singular virtues of courage, integrity, and steadfast |

| 16 | 17 | | resolve, and throughout his 27 years, 6 months on the force, his |

| 17 | 18 | | meritorious service embodied the highest ideals of his vocation; |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Killed in the line of duty on October 29, 2015, |

| 20 | 21 | | Sergeant Keesee will long be missed by his family, his fellow peace |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Though his life ended far too soon, Sergeant Keesee |

| 23 | 24 | | left behind a record of public service that is deserving of his |

| 24 | 25 | | fellow citizens' lasting respect and gratitude; now, therefore, be |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
