| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Texans everywhere are indebted to the men and women |

| 7 | 8 | | to the public welfare, they enable us to enjoy the benefits of a |

| 8 | 9 | | peaceful and orderly society; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Too seldom recognized, and sometimes taken for |

| 10 | 11 | | granted by the public they so faithfully serve, these gallant |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | individuals daily risk their lives in order to ensure domestic |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | tranquility and to protect the lives and property of others; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant Stacey A. Baumgartner of the Patton Village |

| 14 | 15 | | Police Department exemplified in his personal and professional |

| 15 | 16 | | conduct the singular virtues of courage, integrity, and steadfast |

| 16 | 17 | | resolve, and throughout his six years, four months on the force, his |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | meritorious service embodied the highest ideals of his vocation; |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Killed in the line of duty on June 19, 2016, Sergeant |

| 20 | 21 | | Baumgartner will long be missed by his family, his fellow peace |

| 21 | 22 | | officers, and the entire community; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Though his life ended far too soon, Sergeant |

| 23 | 24 | | Baumgartner left behind a record of public service that is |

| 24 | 25 | | deserving of his fellow citizens' lasting respect and gratitude; |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sergeant Stacey |
