| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Nadia Renee Guerra of Corpus |

| 6 | 7 | | Christi on May 12, 2012, at the age of 19, brought an immeasurable |

| 7 | 8 | | loss to the many people who were fortunate enough to share in the |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | life of this beloved young woman; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Nadia Guerra was born in Corpus Christi on April 21, |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | 1993, to Daniel Guerra and Melisa Alvarado Sanchez, and she had four |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | sisters, Audreanna, Gabriella, Natalia, and Angeline, and three |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | brothers, Elian, Ysaih, and Daniel; while in high school, she was |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | involved in a host of extracurricular activities, including |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | cheerleading, managing the baseball team, and serving as an |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | athletic trainer; her passion for helping others led her to excel in |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | these various roles, and after her graduation, she worked as a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | cheerleading coach at Ortiz Middle School while pursuing a nursing |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | degree at Del Mar College; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A young woman who drew on her faith for guidance, |

| 20 | 21 | | Ms. Guerra was a valued member of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Catholic Church; her warmth and compassion were apparent in |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | everything she did, and her kindness inspired many to in turn show |

| 23 | 24 | | kindness to others; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Although her life ended far too soon, the family and |

| 25 | 26 | | friends of Nadia Guerra will never forget the grace and love that |

| 26 | 27 | | she shared with them, and she will forever hold a treasured place in |

| 27 | 28 | | their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Nadia Renee Guerra and |
