45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, In a heartwarming gesture of kindness and support,
67 five-year-old Brittan Brock of Childress made a care package of
78 sandwiches to be given to firefighters who were battling the recent
89 wildfires in the Texas Panhandle; and
910 WHEREAS, The daughter of Sawyer and Shelby Bocanegra, Brittan
1011 was deeply saddened by stories of the devastating fires in that
1112 region; after learning that her uncle would be taking supplies to
1213 people affected by the disaster, this caring young girl decided to
1314 make her own contribution to the donations that were being
1415 collected from the community; and
1516 WHEREAS, Brittan was joined in this endeavor by her
1617 two-year-old brother, Westin; the siblings, whose grandfather is a
1718 retired firefighter and whose uncle worked for the Texas A&M Forest
1819 Service, hold in high regard the heroes who risk their lives to
1920 protect others, and they enclosed a hand-drawn sign reading "Thank
2021 You for Saving Texas" along with the cooler that they had filled
2122 with sandwiches; and
2223 WHEREAS, Through her effort to uplift firefighters
2324 performing difficult and dangerous work, Brittan has demonstrated
2425 compassion and maturity beyond her years, and she is a source of
2526 pride to all who know her; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby commend Brittan Brock for making sandwiches for
2829 firefighters in the Texas Panhandle and extend to her sincere best
2930 wishes for the future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Brittan as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
