| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, CFA Societies Texas is a collaboration of the four |

| 9 | 10 | | societies--those in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio--that |

| 10 | 11 | | represent Certified Financial Analysts in this state; CFAs are men |

| 11 | 12 | | and women who work especially in the areas of research and portfolio |

| 12 | 13 | | management; to earn the CFA credential, individuals must |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | successfully complete a rigorous certification process, proving |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | that they have a comprehensive understanding of investment |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | management, that they follow strict ethical guidelines, and that |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | they are committed to raising the standards of their industry; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This year's Texas summit, "The State of |

| 18 | 19 | | Alternatives--Beyond Traditional Investing," features a number of |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | distinguished speakers and a panel on pensions for chief investment |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | officers; in Texas, the conference launches Putting Investors First |

| 21 | 22 | | Month, a campaign designed to unite investment professionals in a |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | commitment to making investor interests paramount; as part of that |

| 23 | 24 | | commitment, investment managers are encouraged to endorse the CFA |

| 24 | 25 | | Institute Statement of Investor Rights, adopt the institute's Asset |

| 25 | 26 | | Manager Code, and incorporate the principles of the institute's |

| 26 | 27 | | Integrity List into their practice and raise awareness of those |
