| 10 | 11 | | Texas Education Agency as a High-Performing School during the |

| 11 | 12 | | 2015-2016 academic year, while H. G. Olsen Elementary School was |

| 12 | 13 | | designated as a High-Progress Federal Reward School; in addition, |

| 13 | 14 | | two teams from Port Aransas High School qualified for the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | University Interscholastic League State Cross-Examination Debate |

| 15 | 16 | | tournament, and two PAHS students were named 2016 Corpus Christi |

| 16 | 17 | | Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished Scholars; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Olsen Elementary students also proudly represented |

| 18 | 19 | | their district in the arts; in conjunction with the Port Aransas |

| 19 | 20 | | Community Theater, young performers took part in productions of Elf |

| 20 | 21 | | The Musical Jr. in 2016 and Disney's The Lion King Jr. in 2017, and |

| 21 | 22 | | an OES student was honored in 2016 with an invitation to join the |

| 22 | 23 | | National Children's Chorus; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Students from Port Aransas High have distinguished |

| 24 | 25 | | themselves through their recent athletic achievements as well; in |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | 2016, the softball and boys' basketball teams clinched district |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | championships, and members of the boys' and girls' cross-country |

| 27 | 28 | | teams qualified for the state meet for the second consecutive year; |

| 28 | 29 | | moreover, both the Marlins and Lady Marlins basketball teams were |

| 29 | 30 | | regional semifinalists in 2017; and |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, and administration of the Port |

| 31 | 32 | | Aransas Independent School District have demonstrated an |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | exceptional commitment to helping young Texans build a strong |

| 33 | 34 | | foundation for the future, and their efforts have been reflected in |
