| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Lauren Augsburger has been named the 2017 Elementary |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |

| 9 | 10 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |

| 10 | 11 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |

| 11 | 12 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, An alumna of Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi, |

| 13 | 14 | | Ms. Augsburger has been an educator for five years; she currently |

| 14 | 15 | | teaches third grade at Rafael Galvan Elementary School, where she |

| 15 | 16 | | focuses on fostering a positive learning environment and |

| 16 | 17 | | encouraging students to reach their full potential through |
|---|

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Lauren Augsburger exemplifies the passion, |

| 19 | 20 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |

| 20 | 21 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |

| 21 | 22 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
