85R17802 RMA-D By: Herrero H.R. No. 1306 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends of Jose M. Candela of Robstown, who passed away on March 7, 2017, at the age of 63; and WHEREAS, The son of Juan Candela and Amelia Garces Candela, Jose Candela was born in Robstown on March 23, 1953, and grew up with the companionship of six siblings, Alvino, Ramiro, Michael, Janie, Janette, and Anna; he enjoyed a career as a firefighter with the Robstown Fire Department and contributed to his profession as a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters; devoted to his Christian beliefs, he was a valued congregant of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Candela cherished the time spent with his loved ones; he shared 43 years of marriage with his wife, Cristela Candela, and over the decades, the couple were blessed with two children, Melinda Colmenero and her husband, Daniel, and Joel Candela and his wife, Veronica, and four grandchildren, Adizel, Daniel, Zelinda, and Jayla; and WHEREAS, Jose Candela lived a caring and purposeful life centered on his faith, his family, and his community, and he will long be fondly remembered for his generous service to others; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jose M. Candela and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jose Candela.
