| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The son of Juan Candela and Amelia Garces Candela, |

| 10 | 11 | | Jose Candela was born in Robstown on March 23, 1953, and grew up |

| 11 | 12 | | with the companionship of six siblings, Alvino, Ramiro, Michael, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Janie, Janette, and Anna; he enjoyed a career as a firefighter with |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the Robstown Fire Department and contributed to his profession as a |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | member of the International Association of Fire Fighters; devoted |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | to his Christian beliefs, he was a valued congregant of St. Anthony |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | of Padua Catholic Church; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Candela cherished the time spent |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | with his loved ones; he shared 43 years of marriage with his wife, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Cristela Candela, and over the decades, the couple were blessed |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | with two children, Melinda Colmenero and her husband, Daniel, and |

| 21 | 22 | | Joel Candela and his wife, Veronica, and four grandchildren, |

| 22 | 23 | | Adizel, Daniel, Zelinda, and Jayla; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Jose Candela lived a caring and purposeful life |

| 24 | 25 | | centered on his faith, his family, and his community, and he will |

| 25 | 26 | | long be fondly remembered for his generous service to others; now, |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jose M. Candela and |
