| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious award is given each year to |

| 9 | 10 | | individuals and organizations in the field of parks and recreation |

| 10 | 11 | | that have created innovative and effective programs promoting the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | arts and cultural activities; and |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department |

| 13 | 14 | | was recognized for the creation and distribution of its Public Art |

| 14 | 15 | | Collection Book, which features original photos and historical |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | information highlighting each piece of art in the city's |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | collection; the department also developed an ISpy public art tour |

| 17 | 18 | | and game to encourage children and families to search for art along |

| 18 | 19 | | a public transportation trolley route; since their inception, these |

| 19 | 20 | | two ongoing initiatives have enabled thousands of people to enjoy |

| 20 | 21 | | the 78 works of art currently in the city's public collection; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The arts greatly enhance the quality of life in |

| 22 | 23 | | Texas, and by providing opportunities that encourage residents and |

| 23 | 24 | | visitors to learn more about art in the community, the Corpus |

| 24 | 25 | | Christi Parks and Recreation Department has contributed |

| 25 | 26 | | immeasurably to the cultural vitality of the Lone Star State; now, |
