| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Sierra Rach has been honored with a 2017 scholarship |

| 6 | 7 | | from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show Association; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the association recognizes young people |

| 8 | 9 | | who have distinguished themselves through their participation in |

| 9 | 10 | | the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, which takes place in |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | January; funded by proceeds raised at the event, the 2017 |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | scholarship awards were presented to 18 area high school seniors |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | based on a range of criteria, including academic achievement, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | college readiness, and membership in FFA, 4-H, or Family, Career |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | and Community Leaders of America programs; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A member of the Calallen FFA Club, Sierra Rach is |

| 16 | 17 | | graduating from Calallen High School and is looking forward to |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | pursuing a degree at The University of Texas at San Antonio; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has brought great pride |

| 19 | 20 | | to her family and community, and the exceptional talent, aptitude, |

| 20 | 21 | | and drive that she has demonstrated are certain to serve her well in |

| 21 | 22 | | all her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Sierra Rach on her receipt of a |
