| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Masjid At-Tawhid in Houston is celebrating its fifth |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A faith-based community service center, |

| 8 | 9 | | Masjid At-Tawhid was founded in 2012 and settled into its permanent |

| 9 | 10 | | home the following year; the organization serves residents of the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Fifth Ward, Kashmere Gardens, Trinity Gardens, and East Houston, |

| 11 | 12 | | offering free hot meals, groceries, and clothing, as well as |

| 12 | 13 | | spiritual support, without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or |

| 13 | 14 | | walk of life; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The center is led by Imam Qasim ibn Ali Khan, its |

| 15 | 16 | | director; with the assistance of dedicated volunteers, he fosters |

| 16 | 17 | | an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence and works to give hope to |

| 17 | 18 | | those who struggle; he also coordinates with other civic and |

| 18 | 19 | | religious leaders for the benefit of area residents; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception, Masjid At-Tawhid has helped to |

| 20 | 21 | | enhance quality of life for members of the community, and it is |
