6 | 7 | | the untimely death of Angelica P. Beard of Mount Pleasant, who |

7 | 8 | | passed away on March 24, 2017, at the age of 30; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North |

9 | 10 | | Carolina, on April 10, 1986, the former Angelica Reed was the |

10 | 11 | | daughter of Troy and Vivianna DeCohen; as a student at A. Philip |
---|
11 | 12 | | Randolph Campus High School in New York City, she was a star athlete |
---|
12 | 13 | | on the track team, and she went on to graduate from Southwestern |
---|
13 | 14 | | Christian College in Terrell and Texas A&M University--Commerce; |
---|
14 | 15 | | she realized one of her life's goals when she was hired to coach the |
---|
15 | 16 | | girls' track team at Mt. Pleasant High School, and at the time of |
---|
16 | 17 | | her passing, she was also employed as a physical education teacher |
---|
17 | 18 | | at Corprew Elementary; and |

18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A member of Zeta Phi Beta in college, Ms. Beard |

19 | 20 | | remained active in the sorority after her graduation and cherished |
---|
20 | 21 | | the bonds that she shared with her fellow alumnae; deeply committed |

21 | 22 | | to her faith, she was also a valued member of the Sheppard Street |

22 | 23 | | Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant; and |

23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Beard enjoyed the love and |

24 | 25 | | support of her husband, Anterius Beard; the couple became the |
---|
25 | 26 | | devoted parents of twin boys, Terrance and Terrelle, and she also |
---|
26 | 27 | | happily welcomed into her family Mr. Beard's two children, Anterius |

27 | 28 | | and Paris; and |
---|
28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Although the loss of this cherished wife, mother, |
---|
29 | 30 | | and daughter brings tremendous heartache to her loved ones, they |
---|
30 | 31 | | will forever remember the kindness, joy, and laughter that she |

31 | 32 | | brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it |

32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

33 | 34 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Angelica P. Beard |
