 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the loss
 of Barbara Diane Madden of Richardson, who passed away on March 30,
 2017, at the age of 74; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Schenectady, New York, on November 15, 1942,
 the former Barbara Szumachowski was the daughter of Stephen and
 Bernice Szumachowski; she married Jerry Madden on June 20, 1965, in
 a ceremony held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in her hometown; the
 devoted couple became the proud parents of a son, Jerry, and two
 daughters, Stephanie and Kristina; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Madden was a nurse, and during her employment
 at Richardson General Hospital and Heritage Manor Nursing Home, she
 demonstrated exceptional kindness and compassion to her patients;
 during her husband's two-decade tenure in the Texas House of
 Representatives, she was a source of steadfast support; she was
 also a valued congregant of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church
 in Plano; above all, she was devoted to her family, which grew to
 include five grandchildren, Samantha, Alisa, Joey, Sarah, and
 Logan; and
 WHEREAS, Although Barbara Madden will be deeply missed, she
 has left her friends and loved ones with a wealth of memories that
 they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Barbara Diane Madden
 and extend sincere condolences to her relatives and friends; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara
 Madden.
