5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mike Sipes of Graham retired from his position as an |

6 | 7 | | agent with State Farm Insurance on October 30, 2015, drawing to a |

7 | 8 | | close an outstanding career that spanned three decades; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Sipes graduated from Boyd High School and went |
---|
9 | 10 | | on to attend The University of Texas at Arlington and Angelo State |
---|
10 | 11 | | University; he began his work with State Farm in November 1985, when |
---|
11 | 12 | | he opened his own office in Graham; at the time of his retirement, |
---|
12 | 13 | | his business had grown to serve some 5,300 clients and was handling |
---|
13 | 14 | | more than $5 million in premiums each year; and |
---|
14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A steadfast champion of his community, Mr. Sipes has |
---|
15 | 16 | | been Young County Commissioner for Precinct 1 since 2013; in |
---|
16 | 17 | | retirement, he has been able to more fully devote himself to civic |
---|
17 | 18 | | service, and he has enjoyed spending additional time with his wife, |
---|
18 | 19 | | Sherry, and his other family members and friends; and |
---|
19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to |
---|
20 | 21 | | excellence demonstrated by Mike Sipes have greatly benefited the |
---|
21 | 22 | | citizens of Young County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
---|
22 | 23 | | his many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
---|
23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
---|
24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Mike Sipes on his retirement from |
---|
25 | 26 | | State Farm Insurance and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |

26 | 27 | | future; and, be it further |
