45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Mike Sipes of Graham retired from his position as an
67 agent with State Farm Insurance on October 30, 2015, drawing to a
78 close an outstanding career that spanned three decades; and
89 WHEREAS, Mr. Sipes graduated from Boyd High School and went
910 on to attend The University of Texas at Arlington and Angelo State
1011 University; he began his work with State Farm in November 1985, when
1112 he opened his own office in Graham; at the time of his retirement,
1213 his business had grown to serve some 5,300 clients and was handling
1314 more than $5 million in premiums each year; and
1415 WHEREAS, A steadfast champion of his community, Mr. Sipes has
1516 been Young County Commissioner for Precinct 1 since 2013; in
1617 retirement, he has been able to more fully devote himself to civic
1718 service, and he has enjoyed spending additional time with his wife,
1819 Sherry, and his other family members and friends; and
1920 WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to
2021 excellence demonstrated by Mike Sipes have greatly benefited the
2122 citizens of Young County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on
2223 his many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Mike Sipes on his retirement from
2526 State Farm Insurance and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
2627 future; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Mr. Sipes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2930 House of Representatives.
