H.R. No. 1438
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may help
to comfort those saddened by the passing of Karen Rosenbaum McBride
of Jacksboro on April 11, 2016, at the age of 50; and
WHEREAS, The former Karen Marie Rosenbaum was born in
Richmond on March 23, 1966, to Paul Fred and Dorothy Marie
Rosenbaum; she was the valedictorian of her class at Brazos High
School, and she went on to attend Southwest Texas State University,
where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in
biology; and
WHEREAS, Ms. McBride began her career in education in 1996 as
a teacher's aide at Little Elm High School; after earning her
teacher's certificate, she worked in the Denton Independent School
District until joining Graham ISD in 2003; she was part of the
Graham Learning Center for a decade and then taught biomedical
science classes at Graham High School; and
WHEREAS, In her leisure time, Ms. McBride enjoyed traveling
to Dallas to see Broadway shows, geocaching, and watching Star
Trek; she also delighted in caring for her two cats, Tinker and
Sambo; and
WHEREAS, Admired for her kindness, her enthusiasm, and her
dedication to her students, Karen McBride brightened the world for
all who knew her, and they will forever hold her close in their
hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Karen Rosenbaum
McBride and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
her mother, Dorothy Marie Rosenbaum; to her brother, Fred Clark
Rosenbaum; to her nephew and niece, Lonnie Alan Rosenbaum and
Rachel Lynn Rosenbaum; to her aunts and uncles, Robert and Evelyn
Rosenbaum and Larry and Florine Allen; to her special friends,
Lincoln Holmes and Kathy James; and to all who mourn her passing;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Karen
Rosenbaum McBride.
