| 6 | 7 | | to comfort those saddened by the passing of Karen Rosenbaum McBride |

| 7 | 8 | | of Jacksboro on April 11, 2016, at the age of 50; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The former Karen Marie Rosenbaum was born in |

| 9 | 10 | | Richmond on March 23, 1966, to Paul Fred and Dorothy Marie |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Rosenbaum; she was the valedictorian of her class at Brazos High |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | School, and she went on to attend Southwest Texas State University, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | biology; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. McBride began her career in education in 1996 as |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | a teacher's aide at Little Elm High School; after earning her |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | teacher's certificate, she worked in the Denton Independent School |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | District until joining Graham ISD in 2003; she was part of the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Graham Learning Center for a decade and then taught biomedical |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | science classes at Graham High School; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In her leisure time, Ms. McBride enjoyed traveling |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | to Dallas to see Broadway shows, geocaching, and watching Star |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Trek; she also delighted in caring for her two cats, Tinker and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Sambo; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Admired for her kindness, her enthusiasm, and her |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | dedication to her students, Karen McBride brightened the world for |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | all who knew her, and they will forever hold her close in their |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Karen Rosenbaum |

| 30 | 31 | | McBride and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to |
