| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Throckmorton High School senior Peyton Woods has |

| 6 | 7 | | helped to preserve an important facet of local history by producing |

| 7 | 8 | | a supplemental workbook for the Throckmorton Independent School |

|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Woods began this project after discovering that |

| 10 | 11 | | the pre-Civil War military outpost Camp Cooper in Throckmorton |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | County was publicly inaccessible and thus ineligible for |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | registration with the Texas Heritage Trails Program; after |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | performing extensive research on the historical site, he created |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | junior high-level study material to supplement the district's Texas |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | history curriculum, and soon thereafter, his work was approved for |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | use by the Throckmorton ISD Board of Trustees; he also donated 20 |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | books, many signed by the authors, relating to county history to the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | school library; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The Throckmorton Chamber of Commerce has committed |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | to having 25 copies of the material professionally bound and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | donated to the local school system and the area homeschooling |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | cooperative; Mr. Woods is currently using the curriculum to compete |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | in Leadership TMCN, a scholarship program administered by the Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Midwest Community Network; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has distinguished himself |

| 26 | 27 | | through his efforts in behalf of Throckmorton ISD, and he may indeed |

| 27 | 28 | | take great pride in knowing that his work will help local students |

| 28 | 29 | | learn about the rich history of their county for years to come; now, |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby commend Peyton Woods for contributing to the |
