No. 1452 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Truman and Janet Poole of Floydada celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August 13, 2016; and WHEREAS, Truman Poole and the former Janet Payne were joined in matrimony in 1966 at a ceremony held at the home of the groom's sister in Shallowater; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their children, Debbie Smith and Tracey Poole, as well as two grandchildren, Ashley Smith and Amber Reed, and two great-grandchildren, Tii Nathan Summers and Layne Reed; and WHEREAS, Valued residents of the Floydada community since 2012, the couple previously resided in Idalou for 46 years; Mr. Poole had a productive career with Payne's Brokerage before becoming a self-employed handyman in 1974; Mrs. Poole held jobs with the S&H Green Stamp Center and The Reproduction Company, from which she retired in 2006, and she subsequently returned to work for another four years at the Coffee Haus in Idalou; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Poole have enjoyed five decades of abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Truman and Janet Poole on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
