H.R. No. 1458 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Cassidy Turner of Matador was presented with the American FFA Degree at the 89th annual National FFA Convention and Expo held October 19-22, 2016, in Indianapolis; and WHEREAS, The American FFA Degree is awarded to members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the organization, with less than one percent of participants qualifying for the distinction; in addition to planning and implementing a supervised agricultural project, recipients must have completed significant coursework in an agricultural education program, performed extensive community service, and maintained exemplary records in both academics and leadership activities; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Craig and Cathey Turner, Cassidy Turner was an active member of the Motley County High School FFA chapter prior to her graduation in 2015; she is currently a student at West Texas A&M University in Canyon; and WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has brought great pride to her family and her community, and the skill and dedication that she has demonstrated are certain to serve her well in all her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Cassidy Turner on her receipt of the American FFA Degree and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Turner as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
