| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Ramirez of Ortiz Intermediate School has |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |

| 9 | 10 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |

| 11 | 12 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A physical education teacher at Ortiz Intermediate |

| 13 | 14 | | School, Ms. Ramirez has been an educator for more than three |

| 14 | 15 | | decades; during her 12-year tenure with Robstown ISD, she helped |

| 15 | 16 | | establish the Runners Club, which has since grown to include over |

| 16 | 17 | | 200 members; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Carolyn Ramirez exemplifies the passion, |

| 18 | 19 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |

| 19 | 20 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |

| 20 | 21 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Carolyn Ramirez on her selection as |
