| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, John Gregory Webb of Fort Worth retired from the |

| 6 | 7 | | office of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts on March 31, |

| 7 | 8 | | 2017, drawing to a close nearly three decades of exemplary service; |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Webb began his career with the state |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | comptroller's office in December 1988; stationed in the Fort Worth |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | field office throughout his tenure, he earned promotion to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | lieutenant tax fraud investigator, and in his most recent |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | assignment, he was responsible for supervising the northeast region |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | of the Criminal Investigation Division; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Prior to joining state government, Mr. Webb worked |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | as an agent for the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command for |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | more than 20 years; he served as the branch representative to the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | U.S. Department of Justice Defense Procurement Fraud Unit in |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Washington, D.C., before retiring with the rank of chief warrant |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | officer four; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Webb has enjoyed the love |

| 22 | 23 | | and support of his wife, Linda, and the couple are looking forward |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | to traveling the world together; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, John Webb's dedication, professionalism, and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | commitment to excellence have greatly benefited his fellow Texans, |

| 26 | 27 | | and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he |

| 27 | 28 | | embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be |
