| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on July 29, 1957, to Pat and Claire Fagundes in |

| 9 | 10 | | Palo Alto, California, the former Laura Fagundes graduated from El |

| 10 | 11 | | Camino High School and studied business at Skyline College and |

| 11 | 12 | | Riverside Community College; she met John Putkey in 1974, and they |

| 12 | 13 | | were joined in matrimony in 1977; over the course of a rewarding |

| 13 | 14 | | marriage that spanned 39 years, they were blessed with two |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | children, Traci and Johnny; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, After moving to Houston in 1982, Ms. Putkey enjoyed |

| 16 | 17 | | a career that put her administrative abilities and graphic design |

| 17 | 18 | | talents to good use; in addition to working with a number of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | medical-affiliated organizations, she established her own |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | business, Graphics Communications by Laura; a joyful soul who loved |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | opportunities to celebrate her family and friends, she delighted in |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | organizing birthday and Christmas parties, whose brilliant sparkle |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | and conviviality still evoke the warmest of memories; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Laura Putkey embraced life to the fullest, and she |

| 24 | 25 | | will forever remain a vibrant presence for those who knew and loved |

| 25 | 26 | | her; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
