| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed |

| 6 | 7 | | cause for celebration, and Virginia Mae Priefert-Foster of Mount |

| 7 | 8 | | Pleasant marked this milestone in her life on March 4, 2017; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born to Rex and Blanch Johnson in Ames, Iowa, in |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | 1927, the former Virginia Johnson received the nickname "Johnni" |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | from coworkers at an ice-cream parlor; she met her future husband, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Marvin Priefert, at that establishment, and they married on August |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | 17, 1945; the couple settled in Nebraska, near Mr. Priefert's |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | relatives, and they became the proud parents of three children, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Bill, Micki, and Vicki; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Priefert-Foster completed beauty school while |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | helping to run the family wheat farm, and after relocating to Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | in 1962, she continued to work as a hair stylist; in addition, she |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | provided invaluable support for her husband when he launched |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Priefert Manufacturing Company; she served as secretary as the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | business grew to become one of the largest manufacturers of ranch |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | and rodeo equipment; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Following the death of Mr. Priefert in 1988, she was |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | fortunate enough to find love a second time with Jerry Foster; they |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | married in March 2004, and she welcomed into her family his three |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | children, Ricky and Ronnie Foster and Tina Perritt; today, Mrs. |

| 26 | 27 | | Priefert-Foster takes great pride in their 18 grandchildren and 36 |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | great-grandchildren; she continues to serve as vice president and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | director of Priefert Manufacturing Company, which is led by her |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | son, Bill, and three of her grandsons, Eddie, Nate, and Travis; and |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Virginia Priefert-Foster has earned the admiration |

| 31 | 32 | | and affection of countless people over the last nine decades, and |

| 32 | 33 | | she may reflect with pride on a lifetime of achievements; now, |

| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
