| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the NAMM Foundation, along with the |

| 10 | 11 | | University of Kansas Music Research Institute, evaluates music |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | programs in some 14,000 U.S. school districts based on student |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | participation, demographic representation, budgetary and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | administrative staff support, achievement records, and other |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | factors; only about four percent of the districts selected for this |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | assessment ultimately earn special recognition from the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | association; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In addition to numerous McKinney ISD student |

| 18 | 19 | | musicians receiving individual honors, many of the district's |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | ensembles have garnered acclaim at the local, state, and national |

| 20 | 21 | | levels; McKinney Boyd High School, Evans Middle School, and Eddins |

| 21 | 22 | | Elementary School have each earned Honor Choir recognition from the |

| 22 | 23 | | Texas Music Educators Association, and the Cockrill Middle School |

| 23 | 24 | | Honors Band has won numerous titles in the Mark of Excellence |

| 24 | 25 | | National Wind Band Honors contest hosted by the Foundation for |

| 25 | 26 | | Music Education; moreover, several groups from within the district |

| 26 | 27 | | have performed at the prestigious Midwest Clinic International |

| 27 | 28 | | Band, Orchestra, and Music Conference; in 2015, the Faubion Middle |

| 28 | 29 | | School Orchestra was named a Middle School Honor Full Orchestra by |

| 29 | 30 | | TMEA, and the McKinney High School and McKinney North High School |

| 30 | 31 | | marching bands qualified for the University Interscholastic League |

| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, McKinney ISD has established a long-standing |
