| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 7 | | by a great and enduring love, Savas and Rosa Sandoval of Mission |

| 7 | 8 | | celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on January 9, 2017; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Savas Sandoval Jr. and the former Rosa Quintanilla |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | met while working in the fields, and they were united in matrimony |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | in Mission in 1945, while Mr. Sandoval was on leave from his service |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | in the United States Army; over the years, their family has grown to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | include their children, Rosalinda, Rosario, Maria Alicia, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Graciela, and Sabas Sandoval III, as well as 14 grandchildren, 19 |

| 14 | 15 | | great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Valued residents of the Mission community for the |

| 16 | 17 | | entirety of their marriage, Mr. Sandoval worked as a truck driver |

| 17 | 18 | | while Mrs. Sandoval devoted herself to the family's bookkeeping |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | until the couple had saved up enough money to open their own |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | business, a Texaco service station on South Conway; Mr. and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Mrs. Sandoval share a deep faith, and they spent 25 years as |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | missionaries after retiring; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |

| 23 | 24 | | seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Savas and Rosa Sandoval on their |

| 29 | 30 | | 72nd wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
