 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Evans Sr. is stepping down as the Place 3
 representative on the Mansfield Independent School District Board
 of Trustees in 2017, concluding an exemplary tenure that has
 spanned a decade; and
 WHEREAS, Since first being elected to the board, Dr. Evans
 has worked closely with parents, teachers, administrators, and
 other concerned citizens to foster a supportive and challenging
 environment at district schools; although he may reflect with pride
 on a job well done as a member of the Mansfield ISD board, he can
 look forward to an equally fulfilling next phase in a noteworthy
 career of service as he joins the Tarrant County College Board of
 Trustees; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Dr. Evans holds a bachelor's
 degree in political science from The University of Texas at
 Arlington, a master's degree in divinity from the Texas Christian
 University Brite Divinity School, and a doctor of ministry degree
 from the Baylor University Truett Theological Seminary; he is the
 founder of the BBC Educational Enrichment Corporation, which offers
 tutoring, career exploration, and job placement services to over
 1,000 area young people, and he has also served as pastor of
 Bethlehem Baptist Church for more than 20 years; in all his
 endeavors, he is blessed with the love and support of a treasured
 family that includes his wife, Lisa, and their two children,
 Michael and Richard; and
 WHEREAS, The people of Mansfield have benefited immeasurably
 from this esteemed Texan's vision and leadership, and his efforts
 have helped provide countless local students with a strong academic
 foundation on which to build a bright and prosperous future; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Dr. Michael Evans Sr. for his service on
 the Mansfield Independent School District Board of Trustees and
 extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Dr. Evans as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
