| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 6 | 7 | | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Calvin and Ola Parker |

| 7 | 8 | | of Jacksboro celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |

| 8 | 9 | | April 6, 2017; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Parker met on Christmas Eve at the VFW |

| 10 | 11 | | hall, began dating on New Year's Eve, and were joined in matrimony |

| 11 | 12 | | in the spring of 1967; over the years, they have been blessed with a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | treasured family that includes their four children, Lara, Martha, |

| 13 | 14 | | Mylinda, and Pervis, as well as their five grandchildren and seven |

| 14 | 15 | | great-grandchildren; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Now in his retirement, Mr. Parker worked for G&H |

| 16 | 17 | | Butane for a decade and then served as an employee of the City of |

| 17 | 18 | | Jacksboro for nearly 40 years; Mrs. Parker held a position at the |

| 18 | 19 | | Ben Franklin department store before devoting herself to caring for |

| 19 | 20 | | her family; the couple have brought joy to many by appearing at |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | community events and day-care facilities costumed as Santa and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Mrs. Claus, and Mrs. Parker is a dedicated volunteer with several |

| 22 | 23 | | local groups; Mr. Parker enjoys rooting for the Jacksboro High |

| 23 | 24 | | School Tigers football team and takes particular delight in |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | their chosen sports; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Parker have enjoyed five decades of |

| 27 | 28 | | abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |

| 29 | 30 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
