| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Squaring off against 44 other dance organizations, |

| 10 | 11 | | the Cougarettes dazzled the judges with 4 team routines and 16 solo |

| 11 | 12 | | routines; each number was scored to assess both the performance |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | quality and technical execution, and by the end of the competition, |

| 13 | 14 | | the squad had captured a total of 36 awards and secured the state |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | championship crown, a first in the 41-year history of the Cooper |

| 15 | 16 | | High dance program; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, For their impressive demonstration of artistry and |

| 17 | 18 | | skill, the Cougarettes clinched the Showcase Elite Award, given to |

| 18 | 19 | | the highest-scoring entries of the competition, and they were named |

| 19 | 20 | | second runner-up for the grand champion prize, which is bestowed on |

| 20 | 21 | | the team with the highest cumulative score for all of its entries; |

| 21 | 22 | | moreover, they earned the State Champion Award of Academic |

| 22 | 23 | | Excellence for attaining an overall team grade point average of |

| 23 | 24 | | 3.81, and all 16 solo performers garnered superior ratings for |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Cougarettes |

| 26 | 27 | | received valuable contributions throughout the year from each |

| 27 | 28 | | member of the squad, and they also benefited from the able |

| 28 | 29 | | leadership of director and choreographer Kimberely McMillon; and |

| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, The considerable success of the Cougarettes at the |

| 30 | 31 | | Texas Showcase of Champions dance competition was the result of |

| 31 | 32 | | talent, cooperative effort, and countless hours of hard work, and |

| 32 | 33 | | they may take justifiable pride in their achievements; now, |
