45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
67 passing of Alfredo V. Garza of Corpus Christi on April 15, 2017, at
78 the age of 73; and
89 WHEREAS, Born to Dolores and Sandalio Garza on February 11,
910 1944, Fred Garza spent his formative years in the company of his
1011 siblings, Juan, Sandalio, Ruben, Angelina, Jose, and Carmen; he
1112 served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army during the
1213 Vietnam War, and he went on to enjoy a rewarding career as a
1314 printer, working at H-E-B for more than a decade and in the City of
1415 Corpus Christi print shop for another quarter century; and
1516 WHEREAS, Mr. Garza shared 49 years of marriage with his
1617 devoted wife, Gloria, and he took great delight in spending time
1718 with his daughter, Joanne, and his grandson, Ryan; and
1819 WHEREAS, Although Fred Garza is greatly missed, this esteemed
1920 Texan has left his loved ones with many cherished memories, and he
2021 will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore,
2122 be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alfredo V. Garza and
2425 extend sincere condolences to his relatives and friends; and, be it
2526 further
2627 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2728 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
2829 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Fred Garza.
