| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Alfredo V. Garza of Corpus Christi on April 15, 2017, at |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born to Dolores and Sandalio Garza on February 11, |

| 9 | 10 | | 1944, Fred Garza spent his formative years in the company of his |

| 10 | 11 | | siblings, Juan, Sandalio, Ruben, Angelina, Jose, and Carmen; he |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army during the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Vietnam War, and he went on to enjoy a rewarding career as a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | printer, working at H-E-B for more than a decade and in the City of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Corpus Christi print shop for another quarter century; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Garza shared 49 years of marriage with his |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | devoted wife, Gloria, and he took great delight in spending time |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | with his daughter, Joanne, and his grandson, Ryan; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Although Fred Garza is greatly missed, this esteemed |

| 19 | 20 | | Texan has left his loved ones with many cherished memories, and he |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alfredo V. Garza and |
