5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Michael Conteh has helped to |

6 | 7 | | provide quality education and care for special needs children in |

7 | 8 | | the Greater Houston area through his work with Tangible Difference |

8 | 9 | | Learning Center; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Conteh founded TDLC in 2005 as an in-home |
---|
10 | 11 | | community resource for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy |
---|
11 | 12 | | programs, and a few years later, its first clinic-based center |
---|
12 | 13 | | opened its doors; today, it includes three locations, in Houston, |
---|
13 | 14 | | Katy, and Sugar Land, offering ABA as well as speech and |
---|
14 | 15 | | occupational therapy to children diagnosed with autism; |
---|
15 | 16 | | recognizing that autism affects families of all races and |
---|
16 | 17 | | socioeconomic levels, TDLC also features a medical billing |
---|
17 | 18 | | department to help clients navigate their financial options, and in |
---|
18 | 19 | | 2012, Mr. Conteh established a foundation, Project Autism, to |
---|
19 | 20 | | further support and assist families in need of additional |
---|
20 | 21 | | autism-related services; and |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Before starting TDLC, Mr. Conteh gained experience |
---|
22 | 23 | | working with children and young adults with severe emotional and |
---|
23 | 24 | | behavioral challenges as a staff member at a residential facility, |
---|
24 | 25 | | and he has had the opportunity to apply his skills to the treatment |
---|
25 | 26 | | of patients with autism spectrum disorders, as well as children |
---|
26 | 27 | | with ADHD and Down syndrome; in his role as executive director, he |
---|
27 | 28 | | takes pride in personally training his staff to ensure that clients |
---|
28 | 29 | | receive the best therapy possible; and |
---|
29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Michael Conteh's outstanding leadership and |
---|
30 | 31 | | commitment to his work have made a significant difference in the |
---|
31 | 32 | | lives of many young Texans in Greater Houston, and it is indeed |
---|
32 | 33 | | fitting that his noteworthy efforts be recognized; now, therefore, |
