H.R. No. 170
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Michael Conteh has helped to
provide quality education and care for special needs children in
the Greater Houston area through his work with Tangible Difference
Learning Center; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Conteh founded TDLC in 2005 as an in-home
community resource for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy
programs, and a few years later, its first clinic-based center
opened its doors; today, it includes three locations, in Houston,
Katy, and Sugar Land, offering ABA as well as speech and
occupational therapy to children diagnosed with autism;
recognizing that autism affects families of all races and
socioeconomic levels, TDLC also features a medical billing
department to help clients navigate their financial options, and in
2012, Mr. Conteh established a foundation, Project Autism, to
further support and assist families in need of additional
autism-related services; and
WHEREAS, Before starting TDLC, Mr. Conteh gained experience
working with children and young adults with severe emotional and
behavioral challenges as a staff member at a residential facility,
and he has had the opportunity to apply his skills to the treatment
of patients with autism spectrum disorders, as well as children
with ADHD and Down syndrome; in his role as executive director, he
takes pride in personally training his staff to ensure that clients
receive the best therapy possible; and
WHEREAS, Michael Conteh's outstanding leadership and
commitment to his work have made a significant difference in the
lives of many young Texans in Greater Houston, and it is indeed
fitting that his noteworthy efforts be recognized; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Michael Conteh for his service as founder
and executive director of Tangible Difference Learning Center and
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Conteh as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
