R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of Texas Democratic Women are
celebrating the 30th anniversary of their organization's founding
in 2017; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1987, TDW promotes local grassroots
politics and the participation of women in the political process;
and
WHEREAS, An affiliate of the National Federation of
Democratic Women, TDW serves as a communication network for other
Democratic organizations and hosts a number of statewide training
conferences and workshops; and
WHEREAS, Through its outreach programs and its dedication to
volunteerism and activism, the organization seeks to increase the
influence of Democratic women in Texas politics and government; and
WHEREAS, For three decades, the members of Texas Democratic
Women have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the advancement
of their ideals, and their contributions have made a lasting,
positive difference in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 30th anniversary of Texas
Democratic Women and extend to its officers and members sincere
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
