| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Officer Travis Nice of the Robinson Police |

| 6 | 7 | | Department has deservedly been recognized for his actions on |

| 7 | 8 | | November 11, 2016, when he helped deliver a baby during a traffic |

| 8 | 9 | | stop; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, On that day, Robinson patrol officer Brandon Hajek |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | pulled over a speeding vehicle, whose driver informed him that his |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | wife was in labor; Officer Hajek then called for paramedics before |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | summoning the aid of Officer Nice, himself a former paramedic, who |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | was traveling close behind and soon arrived on the scene; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Putting his training into practice, Officer Nice |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | assessed the situation and then enlisted the help of Officer Hajek |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | in moving the expectant mother to the back of the vehicle, where he |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | was able to help her deliver a healthy baby boy; Officer Nice was |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | later honored with a police commendation medal at a meeting of the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Robinson City Council; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Through his skill and presence of mind in an |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | emergency, Officer Travis Nice earned the profound gratitude of one |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | family along with the sincere appreciation and esteem of his |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | colleagues and fellow residents, and he may indeed take great pride |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | in his actions; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commend Officer Travis Nice for his assistance |

| 27 | 28 | | in delivering a baby during a traffic stop and extend to him sincere |

| 28 | 29 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
