| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jessica Fountain is celebrating her 59th birthday on |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Leo "Joe" Fountain and Jessie |

| 9 | 10 | | Fountain, Jessica Fountain was born in Center in 1958 and grew up |

| 10 | 11 | | with four siblings, Sharon, Leon, LaJuanah, and Keith; she |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | graduated from Center High School and went on to major in business |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | technology at the University of Houston's central campus; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Fountain joined the United States Postal Service |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | in 1977 as a manual distribution clerk; over the course of a career |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | spanning more than four decades, she has risen to become executive |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | administrative assistant to the Houston district manager; she has |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | received numerous professional accolades, among them the Area Vice |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | President Award and Shining Star Award; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Active in her community, Ms. Fountain is a member of |

| 20 | 21 | | the Missouri City/Houston Space City Chapter of Top Ladies of |

| 21 | 22 | | Distinction; she serves the group as a Top Teen Mentor, and she has |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | participated in a host of the chapter's initiatives, including the |

| 23 | 24 | | UNCF Top Teen Gala, the Visible Litter Study, and the March of Dimes |

| 24 | 25 | | and Sisters Network Walk-a-thons; in 2009, she was named Top Lady of |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | the Year; she is also a charter member of the Barbara Jordan Houston |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Section of the National Council of Negro Women, and she has |

| 27 | 28 | | volunteered for such worthy causes and organizations as Habitat for |

| 28 | 29 | | Humanity, Evergreen Negro Cemetery Project Respect, and the |

| 29 | 30 | | restoration of Olivewood Cemetery; a valued member of the Church at |

| 30 | 31 | | Bethel's Family, she serves as a member of its education and |

| 31 | 32 | | scholarship ministry and as treasurer of its greeters ministry; she |
