45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Irene A. Armendariz of Austin is retiring as a
67 member of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards on May 4, 2017,
78 concluding nearly a decade of distinguished service to that body;
89 and
910 WHEREAS, Ms. Armendariz was appointed to TCJS by Governor
1011 Rick Perry in October 2007, and throughout her tenure, she played a
1112 vital role in advancing the agency's mission of establishing
1213 standards for the care and treatment of prisoners and for the
1314 construction, maintenance, and operation of county and municipal
1415 jails; and
1516 WHEREAS, An alumna of the University of Phoenix,
1617 Ms. Armendariz has also enjoyed a fulfilling career in the health
1718 care industry; she currently serves as senior vice president of
1819 operations for Cenpatico Behavioral Health and as a member of the
1920 board of Superior HealthPlan; she has further benefited her
2021 community through her efforts on the board of the Greater El Paso
2122 Chamber of Commerce and the allocation committee of the United Way
2223 of El Paso County; and
2324 WHEREAS, Irene Armendariz has served the State of Texas with
2425 great skill and dedication, and she may take justifiable pride in
2526 her many accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting
2627 chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
2728 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2829 Legislature hereby commend Irene A. Armendariz for her service as a
2930 member of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and extend to her
3031 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Ms. Armendariz as an expression of high regard by the
3334 Texas House of Representatives.
