| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Skyler Barker has been presented with the 2016 Chief |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A former marine and a four-year veteran of the |

| 9 | 10 | | Corpus Christi Police Department, Skyler Barker was appointed last |

| 10 | 11 | | year to the SWAT team and the Honor Guard; he was recognized by the |

| 11 | 12 | | Kiwanis Club for such outstanding efforts as making numerous drug |

| 12 | 13 | | and gun arrests and seizures, assisting detectives in a missing |

| 13 | 14 | | persons investigation, and leading crisis negotiations; in |

| 14 | 15 | | addition to conferring on him the Police Officer of the Year award, |

| 15 | 16 | | the Kiwanis Club designated him as Operations Bureau Officer of the |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of 2016, this esteemed law |

| 18 | 19 | | enforcement professional was also twice selected as Officer of the |

| 19 | 20 | | Month for the Charlie district, and he earned six letters of |

| 20 | 21 | | recognition; in all his endeavors, he is supported by the love and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Admired for his courage, expertise, and unwavering |

| 23 | 24 | | dedication to duty, Officer Skyler Barker exemplifies the highest |

| 24 | 25 | | standards of his vocation, and he is indeed deserving of this |
