R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Pilar Harkless has been presented with an
Outstanding Award from the Student Support Services--STEM program
at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, The SSS--STEM program is part of the university's
Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which
furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to
low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; in
receiving an Outstanding Award, Ms. Harkless was recognized for her
academic achievements as a student majoring in a science,
technology, engineering, or mathematics field of study; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Harkless is currently pursuing an undergraduate
degree in biomedical engineering at TAMU--CC, and she has been
enrolled in the SSS--STEM program for the past eight months; and
WHEREAS, Pilar Harkless is indeed deserving of this
prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Pilar Harkless on her receipt of a
Student Support Services--STEM program Outstanding Award and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Harkless as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
