H.R. No. 1995
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Homar Alaniz has been presented with a Community
Services Award by the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M
University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS)
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented
students; in receiving a Community Services Award, Mr. Alaniz was
recognized for his participation in a number of local service
projects coordinated by TRIO Islanders throughout the past year;
and
WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, Mr. Alaniz is majoring in
kinesiology in pursuit of a career as a physical therapist, and he
currently serves as president of the TRIO Islanders Organization;
and
WHEREAS, Homar Alaniz is indeed deserving of this prestigious
honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with promise; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Homar Alaniz on his receipt of a
TRIO Islanders Organization Community Services Award and extend to
him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Alaniz as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
