H.R. No. 2067
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ivan Martinez has been presented with an Outstanding
Award from the Student Support Services--STEM program at Texas A&M
University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, SSS-STEM is part of the university's Programs for
Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the
goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income,
first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving an
Outstanding Award, Mr. Martinez was recognized for his academic
achievements as a student majoring in a science, technology,
engineering, or mathematics field of study; and
WHEREAS, A sophomore at TAMU--CC, Mr. Martinez is working
toward a degree in nursing; after graduating, he plans to pursue a
career as a nurse and hopes to help improve the overall quality of
hospital care; and
WHEREAS, Ivan Martinez is indeed deserving of this
prestigious honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ivan Martinez on his receipt of a
Student Support Services--STEM Outstanding Award and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
