| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Ivan Martinez has been presented with an Outstanding |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, SSS-STEM is part of the university's Programs for |

| 9 | 10 | | Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the |

| 10 | 11 | | goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income, |

| 11 | 12 | | first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving an |

| 12 | 13 | | Outstanding Award, Mr. Martinez was recognized for his academic |

| 13 | 14 | | achievements as a student majoring in a science, technology, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | engineering, or mathematics field of study; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A sophomore at TAMU--CC, Mr. Martinez is working |

| 16 | 17 | | toward a degree in nursing; after graduating, he plans to pursue a |

| 17 | 18 | | career as a nurse and hopes to help improve the overall quality of |

| 18 | 19 | | hospital care; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Ivan Martinez is indeed deserving of this |

| 20 | 21 | | prestigious honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with |
